Today, I’m going to cover the best foods to clean the liver.

Many people think the liver stores toxins. But, it doesn’t normally store toxins—it gets rid of toxins. However, toxins are stored in fat cells, so if you have a fatty liver, you could have toxins stored in your liver.

The liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate quickly. If about 25% of your liver is still healthy, and you change your ways, you can potentially regenerate your liver. But, keep in mind there is a point of no return.

  1. Dr. Berg’s videos have literally helped me get my life back. I learn so much with everyone. I’ve wondered why in hell my feet itch so bad. My biggest obstacle while following the Keto diet is food sensitivities. There are so many of the mainstays I can’t eat (eggs, garlic, milk, broccoli ect.) that it becomes difficult with meal planning. The carnivore diet left me unsatisfied. Bottom line, it’s taking a long time to heal my fatty liver.

  2. Thank you man, I’ve been a severe alcoholic for about 20 years, I have all of these symptoms except for the yellowing of skin and eyes, I’ve been sober for 4 days now and symptoms are starting to subside a little each day, I think I’m going to stay sober

  3. Dr Berg is the T.D Jakes of Health Concerns !! 🙏🙌🏾💪🏾👍🏾Truly a blessing to all who are willing to listen! Thanks Doc..

  4. And my doctor had the nerve to tell me there wasn’t a connection between the liver and my thyroid! We really have to educate ourselves when it comes to our health! Thank you for yours videos Doctor! 🙏🏽

  5. I just can’t thank you enough Dr Berg for all of your knowledge !! I was in a panic stressing about my liver because I’ve been having thst rt side ” pain” and I’m awaiting my ultrasound results. I am not a drinker at all but this video explains so much!!
I am going to implement all of this starting today .

I’m so glad that I found your channel! Finally, a Doc who cares about both! God bless you, Doc! Thank you for making these videos!

  7. Amazing lecture, I have had pain in my lower right back for almost 2 years. As a diabetic I have often struggled against the starches. But listening to your lecture coupled with the fact that I was recently diagnosed with fatty liver, I’m hopeful your recommendations will do better than most of the drugs I have been given. Thanks and continue the good work

  8. Dear Dr. Berg, You are an Angel as I always listen to your detailed lecture pertaining to LIVER as I have fatty liver and diabetes, and high blood pressure. Thanks please continue your valuable programs. God bless you, sir!

  9. This is good advice. My mom’s liver failure was caught very late. Controlling her diet was key to giving her some good years during her last few. I can tell you that if you take a lot of Tylenol, have diabetes or crave sweets and eat mostly processed food – YOU NEED TO CONSIDER your LIVER. Liver failure is a really bad illness to confront and alcohol is not its only cause. You change your trajectory easily if you look after yourself early.

  10. This is timely. We were in a bad accident and my husband has a few fractures, lacerated spleen and bruised liver. They gave him a trauma cocktail with Tylenol and treated his pain with Tylenol. About a week later his liver enzymes were high. He isn’t taking Tylenol anymore. But I’m hoping to reverse any damage if possible.

  11. You are a life-saver and so gifted in explaining health issues. Just started listening to your videos on the liver. For 25 years I’ve experienced all of the symptoms you’re describing and you are the first medical expert to connect it all to my liver and how I’ve been destroying it! Thank you for clarifying the issue and presenting me with a clear plan. Just filled the trash can with all the garbage I’ve been eating. Now headed to the grocery store to start over and follow every suggestion. God bless you.

  12. Dr Berg, thank you🙏🏻❤️. You are saving lives! I’ve completely change my life since I’m watching your videos. My mom passed from liver cancer, and my dad from kidney failure. Unfortunately they both had very unhealthy lifestyles and diets. I’m turning it all around. Proudly reporting that I do 80% of what you’re video shows. Still have a lot more to go. Switching to organic vegetables and fruits, and need to have a green juice daily. I started making my Sauerkraut every two weeks ( 5 cabbage) that I eat every day. No sugar at all, only lemon water, no alcohol, very small amount of carbs, ( bread) that I make( no preservatives like store bought). Thank you🙏🏻❤️ so much for turning my life around. I still have a lot to change by I’m on a good path. Gratitude 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    • Make sourdough bread. It is way less inflammatory than regular bread. Big improvement for me!! Peace and health to you!

    • Thank u Doc Berg for the right timing info about it.. I was diagnosed with a diffusion fatty
      liver infusion lately..thank God
for the learnings about the one of the most important part of our vital organ, the liver..this
is of a great help not only to those who have liver problems but to all of us. God bless u doc.

    • @Dr. Eric Berg DC Dr. Berg, could you lecture on the subject of oxalates? I’ve read that beets and almonds are extremely high in oxalates which are very hard on the…kidney, I think. Please consider doing a video on this. Thank you.

  13. Thanks Doc. I have a fatty liver and have been suffering for a very long time. I’ve suffered hair loss and also used to have those shoulder/back pain you were referring too. I love salad so will definitely start looking at salad as a staple diet.

    Thanks again!

    • Ya but you can get organic 🥬 kale & cabbage at just about any market for $1.99 and you can get turmeric w was not mentioned I eat it straight from the root it’s maybe 5-6$ a lbs at whole foods just limit it they can get organic greens for salad by organic girl at Ralph’s or most produce sections 3.99$ so if you look it’s easy to find organic greens. Aldi has organic broccoli 🥦 zucchini ,green beans for a decent price

    • Just because they write the word organic on some things doesn’t really make them organic at all. Alotta folks greedy. Becareful

    • @Joanne Clark my hair loss stopped when I got my thyroid TSH number under 2.0. Hypothyroid being related to liver health.. it could make sense to help hair loss.

  14. Extremely helpful video. Ive used TUDCA in the past to clean out my liver and i experienced a complete reversal in my chronic eczema, this is also due in part also to eliminating a bunch of junk calories i was eating at the time like soda and candy (knocked out most of sugars). Its funny that you listed Prednisone as an extremely toxic drug for the liver because when my Eczema would flare of extremely bad that what i would get prescribed and ironically it only masked the symptoms for a week or two at the most. Another thing i noticed taking the TUDCA is that my Vitiligo patches started re-pigmentation. At one point my hands were about 50% covered with this patches. Now you barely notice and i would say i only have about 5% discoloration remaining. I may need to do another month cycle of TUDCA to see if i can get it down even more.

Two ingredients that i was surprised that didn’t make your list are Tumeric and Blackseed oil. I’ve used two ingredient to marvelous affect for keeping a handle on my autoimmune disorders that are completely under control now, Eczema, Food allergies, and Asthma.

  15. I started to apply Dr. Berg’s information since May this year. In three months I lost 25lbs (180 to 155). I am 64 and my body looks like in my early 20s’ with 6 pax. Thank you Dr. Berg.

    • By doing what the doctor tells you to do : green salads, fresh drinks from vegetable, and so on… Look at rhe list here above and start doing it.. You will see how fast you are losing fat and weight… Do it instead of talking about it.. Wish you all the best!!!

    • @Magd. S. I am only eating twice a day and drinking vinegar ,lemon or cinnamon and I don’t eat small meals and I am still loosing weigh slowly, I want to get to the point of eating small meals but I am happy that I am still using weight after 5 years.

  16. Dr. Berg, you have changed/saved me at least a dozen times throughout the years.
I’m so thankful for all your help… My body is amazing because of your info and my ability to change bad habits… I’m 60 I went from obese to 13% body fat and lost 40 pounds, your amazing information is my bible for health you have never been wrong. 5 Stars!!!
    Thank you for everything…

    • @Green Leaf Yes, I agree to this statement. And mind you, younger people, don’t even want to listen and or learn about their body functions. They always scroll down.😔👍🏿♥️

    • @Green Leaf Me too! Diagnosed diabetes 26 years ago & struggled with my weight blood sugar and cholesterol all my life! Had maybe 7 to 8 doctors over those years not one mentioned keto IF or extended fasting for control. I had to find out a year and 7 months ago from YouTube doctors who have saved my life. I’m slender now and all my numbers are good and great diabetes control thanks to them. I’m bitter about those past doctors got to admit it but thankful for Covid staying in and listening to YouTube all the time and finally getting what I needed. Will be 69 shortly.

    • @Alicia Stanley diabetes management and healing ( if possible ) is almost only about special nutrition 😆 – fasting is very good, avoiding coffee is advised by people having knowledge

  18. I’ve started eating salads six days a week. This week, I’ve started eating Caesar salads with homemade Caesar salad dressing, which contains EVOO, MCT oil, ACV, lemon juice, lemon zest, anchovies, garlic, egg yolks, Dijon mustard, sundried tomatoes, basil pesto, and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. It’s so good, and I’m still consistently losing weight! I’m down 60 lbs in just under 5 months!
