- How to use hibiscus tea for high blood pressure
Today I want to share a simple remedy for high blood pressure. It’s important to figure out the root cause of your high blood pressure and fix that issue. But, in the meantime, hibiscus tea is a fantastic natural remedy for high blood pressure that has virtually no side effects.
Different studies on hibiscus tea have reported significant blood pressure lowering effects in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Some studies suggest it may be almost as effective or just as effective as certain blood pressure medications.
Hibiscus tea may have a slight diuretic effect, but it doesn’t reduce potassium. It can also help lower triglycerides and LDL cholesterol.
The pigments in hibiscus flowers are composed of a certain phytonutrient that acts as a natural ACE inhibitor. Many different blood pressure medications are ACE inhibitors.
Try drinking hibiscus tea for about six weeks to see the full effect. You may also want to focus on getting your vitamin D and potassium levels higher. Just be sure to check with your doctor before drinking hibiscus tea if you take a diuretic.
Other benefits of hibiscus tea:
• Studies suggest it may help inhibit gastric cancer by up to 52%.
• Studies have shown that the phytonutrients in hibiscus tea have antimicrobial properties that may be as effective as certain antibiotics and more effective than penicillin.
• One study showed that it may help you decrease fat on your liver.
Dr. Berg, Your method works fine for me, I have taken hibiscus everyday for sometime and I am feeling so much better with my A-Fib. I am back to normal and my daily routine is fine. Thank you.
I’ve listened to many Dr’s giving advice on health issues, and Dr Berg is the BEST. I am also an RN. Thank you Dr Berg.
Dr. Berg to the rescue once again. I’ve always had borderline BP (140s/80-90). After watching this video I began mixing organic hibiscus with my organic green tea everyday. After 4 weeks my BP at my annual physical was 117/78. Even when I had the flu recently, it was 128/82. Blown away with this natural remedy. Thank you!
@Johnwillbegone 1. Republic of Tea – has 1583mg of hibiscus or. 2. Traditional – has 1250mg of hibiscus. I get it from Sprouts but you may be able to find it at WholeFoods or other health food stores. I don’t buy anything from Amazon that I put IN or ON my body, but that’s my personal preference. I’ve read too many horrible reviews on there to take the risk.
Superb friend ! Can u tel me the way how to made hibiscus tea ? Please help
Rookie numbers I’ve been at 160 for like 3 years 😭 and I’m only 18

I really, truly thank God for you and your ministry!🙏 ❤
That’s the tea I had when I was in Egypt. Very popular there. Loved it! They put lots of sugar in it but I didn’t. Didn’t know about HBP effect . Thanks Doctor Berg for the info.
This is very popular here in the Middle East, and it’s used specifically for high blood pressure for as long as I can remember.
Thank you Dr. Berg
Interesting. I’ll have to start drinking this tea from now on instead of green tea.
@Peachez ………yard man can’t make tea ,them smoke dope
@Peachez Yes! my neighbor put me onto Jamaica but i didn’t know it was good for blood pressure. SO excited!
@Kim B. If you make it you should try it with less sugar. Usually it’s pretty sweet in restaurants. There’s a lot of fruity herb tea in the supermarket that has hibiscus as the first ingredient
@Peachez i’ve never had it in restaurants. my neighbor bought the loose tea and made it and then gave me some loose tea. it’s pretty tart and bitter to me by itself so i do add monkfruit sweetener
We are literally dealing with a crisis right now and this information came at just the right time! Thank you Doctor!!!
In Mexico we call it “agua de de flor de Jamaica ” and drink it as a cold beverage but I instead of using regular sugar I drink it alone or sometimes I add stevia for a cold drink. I love it!
Gracias por la information
what is the name of the tea in English
@SANJAYA PANG hibiscus tea
Lo bebes frío del frigo ?
You’re very intelligent, knowledgeable, honest and most helpful Dr.Berg. Thank you
Hey doc, the tea is good, I have also lowered my blood pressure by fasting 20/4 everyday as well as exercise. Went keto for two years many cycles. I think sticking to keto and training as hard as I did really helped my physical fitness while I served in the military.
@Trena Phillips I got it on Amazon, and they delivered it before noon.
I do fasting i hope it works for my blood pressure 🙏
Thank you for your service.

Hibiscus or كركديه ( karkadaih) in Arabic is one of the most famous Egyptian herbal teas. It’s good as well for blood sugars and digestion, and even its bright colour is added to henna to give a burgundy effect; as a hair dye. Thanks Dr Berg 😊
